Frequently Asked Questions

What is the training program like? Where does it take place?
The training program is very comprehensive. It includes pre-training activities, initial training, field training, follow-up training, and ongoing coaching. Some of this takes place at our facility in Seattle, Washington, and some is scheduled in your location, as you get your franchise up and running.
Do you help franchisees with marketing and finding customers?
Yes. In our training sessions, you’ll learn how to analyze your national and local competition, discover markets in your area, generate qualified leads, and set appointments. You will learn the skills needed to build and maintain your business.
Do you help new franchisees with operational support?
Yes. We’ll guide you through the process of selecting and outfitting your van, storage area, and office. Then, we provide daily administrative support to our franchisees: we generate your customer invoices, collect your customer accounts, and control and replenish your inventory.
How long does it typically take for a new franchise to be “up and running”?
You will be “up and running” the moment you complete our initial training session! Our intensive Pre-Training and Initial Training programs will provide you with all the tools you need to successfully start and operate your HART Health franchise.
Is a HART Health van service franchise available in my geographic area?
HART Health has a planned strategy of expansion in the United States that begins in the western states and will move east in the next couple of years. When you complete the Request for More Information, please make sure to let us know your preferred geographic location.
Does HART Health help with financing?
Yes! We offer direct financing to qualified franchisees for part of your investment. Plus there are many sources of financing for small businesses such as the Small Business Administration (SBA), Angel Financing through friends and family and second mortgage programs. If you need help with financing, ask us.
How much cash would I need to get started?
The total investment ranges from $29,580 to $72,675. You may need additional funds for personal and living expenses for several months.
Do I need to purchase a special vehicle?
We recommend that you purchase a used van in good condition (similar to a Chevrolet Astro) which you will then outfit with shelving and special equipment. We’ll give you more detailed specifications during your pre-training period.
Do I need to maintain space in my home for office or product storage?
You will need to maintain a small heated storage space for the medical products, and a small office space to accommodate a phone, fax machine, computer, desk, filing cabinet and bookcase. We’ll give you more detailed specifications during your pre-training period.
What qualities or job experiences does HART Health seek in a franchisee?
We’re looking for people who are eager to be in business for themselves, but not by themselves. We’d like to work with people who are passionate about being independent, but who don’t want to reinvent the wheel and will commit to following our proven process. A college degree is not necessary, nor is medical or accounting experience. But it’s important that you be well organized and able to keep accurate records. Although sales experience is not required, it is desirable. You’ll need to be excited about marketing your business— talking with potential customers in their business environment, following up on leads, and continually looking for opportunities to build your customer base. A friendly, confident, professional attitude works best for our business model. If you have these qualities, along with a strong work ethic and the desire to be independent, then you’re probably a good match for HART Health!
Do I need to have medical experience to be successful with a franchise?
No, it’s not required. You will receive training on the products you’ll be supplying, as well as other topics that pertain to your customers’ first-aid needs, like OSHA requirements.
Can I do this alone, or do I need a partner or employee?
A HART Health franchise is ideal for a team of two. Since the business requires opening new customers as well as servicing existing accounts, some people find that “division of labor” works nicely for a married couple or a team. But if you’re energetic, organized, have a strong work ethic, and can handle a wide variety of business-related tasks, you can get your business off to a start alone. As your business builds, you may find it necessary to bring on an employee or a partner.
What is the next step?
